Jet lag was setting in a bit this morning as it was very difficult to get up so C could go to mass. After having cafe amb llet and a jamon bocadillo from the shop around the corner, we set out to find the closest iglesia with directions from the hotel staff. Unfortunately, mass started at 11, not 12...we were only a half hour late, but as C said, it's okay because we got there before the homily (or in the middle of it). It was a beautiful church. After mass, we headed down Passeig de Gracia toward Placa Catalunya and on to La Catedral. Most of the church was closed off as there was a mass.
Outside in the placa in front of the cathedral were groups of people dancing the traditional Catalan dance, the Sardana.

We then made our way toward one of my restaurants, El Xampanyet, a cava bar near the Museu Picasso. It was closed from Nov 22, 23 & 24 - TANCAT! CERRADO! And it was one of the few places I found that was even open on Sunday. I guess not this Sunday. Que sera, but I had another bar I wanted to try - La Vinya del Senyor in Placa de Santa Maria, a nice wine bar with a huge selection of wines.
It was too crowded, and we wanted more food than they offered, so we headed to the nearest tapas bar (right around the corner) that looked interesting - bubo (Carrer de Caputxes)

First and most importantly, was the cava - at 2,40 euros, it was cheaper than the cafe amb llet we had for breakfast. Hmm, I'm thinking I'll just have cava with every meal. It was molt be.
For the tapas, we had:

(1) Las Bravas and Pa amb tomaquet (bread with tomato puree) (2) croquetas Jamon Iberico (3) brochetas morunas con yogur d'Curry (4)boquerones (5) tortilla (6)pescadito frito con espuma de lima limon.
On our way back to the hotel, we stopped for Churros con Chocolat.

And enjoyed the sights along La Rambla

Then, it was time for siesta and a little vi de Ribera Del Duero we picked up yesterday.
