-Antoni Gaudi

It was a Gaudi day today as we made our way up Passeig de de Gracia to the Manzana de la Discordia (Block of Discord - Pg. Gracia Nos. 35, 41, and 43), where three distinct examples of modernista architecture lie side by side. Unfortunately, construction blocked the view of one of Casa Amatller (No. 41 Pg Gracia).
We did, however, get pictures of #35, Casa Lleo Morera, the first residential work by Domenech i Montaner and #43 Gaudi's Casa Batllo.

Across the street was La Pedrera (The Stone Quarry), an apartment block built entirely without supporting walls or straight lines, built by Gaudi. We didn't go in as the lines were long. Maybe next time.

Lunch was C's choice and ala buffet at La Vaca Paca. The Paella wasn't bad.
After a quick trip back to the hotel so C could recover from the dirty air that was infiltrating her lungs, we hopped on the metro and headed to Sagrada Familia, the most talked-about, unfinished building in the world. We paid the 10 Euro to get in and it was worth it. Work still continues on the Gaudi creation, with completion not expected until 2040.

K opted to take the lift up to the top of one of the towers. You then walk across a walkway to another tower and make your way down narrow steps and then the spiral staircase to get down to the ground. It was a little unnerving, but great views.

After a trip back down Passeig de Gracia to Av. Portal De l'Angel so C could buy some shoes, we headed back to a place we saw earlier in the day to have dinner. Just our luck, it was still tapas time, not dinner, so we headed back to Tapas 24, the tapas bar where we started our Barcelona journey. It's only appropriate that we finished this trip there.
Their Sangria is sooooo good. In addition, to a liter of that, we also had two dishes of the patatas braves, which we had on Saturday, and a bikini (grilled ham sandwich, which we also had on Saturday).
(1) Menu of the day (2) Suson Fritos (some sort of fried fish) (3) Gambas plantxa (4) lamb skewers and (5) K enjoying her cava

And thus, this is sadly our last night in Barca, a city we have come to love very much. Tomorrow, it's off to Madrid for the rest of our time in Spain.
